That's an excellent question! AWS Lodge does not offer Perdiz hunting in December — Perdiz sessions run only through our confirmed Mixed Bag program during the normal season, generally mid-May to mid-August. For reference, when Perdiz hunting in season, you'll want boots that offer a balance of support, comfort, and protection, especially since perdiz hunting often involves walking through fields with varying terrain and potentially wet conditions from morning dew.

Here are some recommendations:

• Waterproof: Absolutely. Even in December, morning dew can soak through non-waterproof boots quickly. Look for boots with a reliable waterproof membrane like Gore-Tex to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
• Ankle Support: This is essential for navigating uneven fields and providing stability, helping to reduce the risk of twists or sprains during long walks.
• Comfort & Fit: Make sure they are well broken-in before your trip. Lightweight and breathable materials are also a significant plus for warmer December weather.
• Traction: A good outsole with aggressive lugs will provide necessary grip on various surfaces, from soft earth to tall grass.

Ultimately, the best boots are the ones that fit you perfectly and are comfortable for extended wear during your hunt.
