Q: best boots for perdiz hunting with the dogs in september
AWS Lodge does not offer Perdiz hunting in September — Perdiz sessions run only through our confirmed Mixed Bag program during the normal season, generally mid-May to mid-August. For reference, when Perdiz hunting in season, you'll want boots that offer a good balance of comfort, support, and weather protection, as conditions can vary from mild to potentially wet. Here are some key features to look for:
• Waterproofing: This is crucial. Dew on the fields can soak through non-waterproof boots quickly. GORE-TEX or similar waterproof membranes are highly recommended.
• Ankle Support: Walking through fields, often uneven terrain, for extended periods requires good ankle stability to prevent sprains. Mid to high-cut boots are generally preferred.
• Comfort and Fit: You'll be doing a lot of walking, so comfort is paramount. Ensure they are well broken-in before your trip. Consider lightweight options that don't sacrifice durability.
• Breathability: Even with waterproofing, breathability helps manage moisture from sweat, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.
• Traction: A good outsole with aggressive lugs will provide excellent grip on various surfaces, from grassy fields to potentially muddy areas.
