For an August trip targeting both doves and ducks in Argentina, choke selection is crucial for optimal performance across varying shooting scenarios.

For high-volume dove shooting, where birds are often fast and at varying ranges, we generally recommend an Improved Cylinder (IC) or Light Modified (LM) choke. These provide a good balance of spread for close-range birds while maintaining enough density for slightly longer shots. Many of our guests find success starting with an IC and adjusting if they find themselves consistently shooting at longer ranges.

For duck hunting, which typically involves larger birds and often requires more dense patterns at longer distances, a Modified (M) or Improved Modified (IM) choke is usually preferred. This provides a tighter pattern for more effective shots on waterfowl, especially when they are decoying or flying overhead.
