Q: choke recommendations for doves vs ducks for march trip, any specific preferences you guys have for the lodge guns

AWS EXPERT REPLY
That's a great question! For high-volume dove shooting in Argentina, we generally recommend more open chokes like Skeet or Improved Cylinder (IC). This allows for a wider pattern, which is very effective given the incredible number of doves and often closer ranges you'll encounter. For ducks — note Duck hunting is only available through our Mixed Bag program during the confirmed season, generally mid-May to mid-August, so it won't be part of a March trip. For reference, when hunting ducks in season, which are typically taken at slightly longer distances, a tighter choke like Modified (MOD) or Improved Modified (IM) is usually preferred to ensure good pattern density and knockdown power.

Our lodge provides a selection of high-quality shotguns, including brands like Benelli and Beretta, and our professional guides are always on hand to assist you with choke selection to best suit the conditions and your personal shooting style once you're here. Gun rentals and licenses are seamlessly managed by our team as part of your itinerary, so you don't have to worry about the details.

*(AWS Expert Note: Please be aware that our Mixed Bag programs, including Duck and Perdiz hunting, strictly run during the Argentine winter from mid-May to mid-August. For trips in March, we exclusively offer our world-renowned High-Volume Dove program, which is spectacular year-round!)*
