Q: choke recs for doves vs ducks for december trip
In December, AWS Lodge does not operate Duck hunting, so Duck choke selection does not apply to that trip. Dove is the year-round core program. From September through March, limited Pigeon opportunities may also be considered when specifically included and confirmed in the written itinerary. For high-volume Dove shooting, Improved Cylinder or Light Modified are common starting points, with the final choice adjusted for distance, wind, shotgun, and shooting style. Duck and Perdiz sessions are offered only through a confirmed Mixed Bag program during the normal season, generally from mid-May to mid-August, subject to current regulations, field conditions, and the written itinerary. For a confirmed in-season Duck session, choke and ammunition guidance is determined according to the actual lagoon and shooting conditions.
