Q: What is the current cost of shotgun shells at AWS Lodge?
Shell prices can change depending on ammunition costs and market conditions, so AWS Lodge keeps the current shell price updated directly in our AWS Online Concierge rather than publishing a fixed price in this FAQ.
Checking the current rate is very easy. Simply open the “Find Your Best Program Here” Concierge tab on our website. The assistant opens instantly, and under “Current Rates” you will see the shell price currently in effect at AWS Lodge.
The displayed shell rate is based on a minimum consumption of 10 boxes per hunter, per hunting excursion — for example, during a morning hunt. If a hunter shoots fewer than 10 boxes during that excursion, the minimum shell charge still applies, so the effective cost per box is calculated based on the actual number of boxes consumed.
AWS Lodge is a true high-volume wingshooting operation, and shell consumption can vary enormously from hunter to hunter. A serious high-volume shooter can consume 80 boxes or more in a full hunting day, and hunters with the stamina and desire to continue shooting may consume considerably more.
For that reason, lower shell rates may sometimes be available depending on the shooting plan. This can apply, for example, to ammunition prepaid before arrival or to hunters expecting particularly high daily shell consumption.
Because these conditions can vary according to the program, group size, ammunition type and expected shooting volume, any special shell rate, prepaid ammunition arrangement or high-volume rate should be discussed directly with AWS Lodge when making your reservation.
