Q: what's the etiquette for tipping the bird boys and the rest of the lodge staff for a february trip
It's great you're thinking about a February trip with us! Tipping is a thoughtful gesture of appreciation for the dedicated service you'll receive at AWS Lodge.
Here's a general guideline for tipping etiquette:
• Bird Boys: We recommend tipping your bird boy directly at the end of each hunting day or at the end of your trip. A common range is typically between $50 - $100 USD per day, per hunter, depending on the level of service and your satisfaction. You'll have a dedicated bird boy with you throughout your hunts, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
• Lodge Staff (Chef, Waitstaff, Housekeeping, Guides, Drivers, etc.): For the rest of the lodge staff, it's customary to leave a collective tip at the end of your stay. This tip is typically pooled and distributed among the entire team that contributed to your experience. A general guideline for the entire lodge staff is often around 10-15% of the total trip cost, or approximately $100-$150 USD per hunter, per day, but this is entirely at your discretion and based on the outstanding service you receive.
Our team works tirelessly to provide you with a luxurious and unforgettable hunting experience, from gourmet meals and open bar to professional guiding and comfortable lodging.
