Q: what's the recommended clothing for winter june-august for hunting and also for just around the lodge, like is it cold enough for heavy layers or more like light jacket stuff

AWS EXPERT REPLY
That's an excellent question to ensure you have the most comfortable and enjoyable experience at AWS Lodge!

For winter hunting in Argentina (June-August), you should definitely prepare for cold weather, especially in the early mornings and evenings. While our region doesn't experience extreme snow, temperatures can drop significantly.

Here's what we recommend:

For Hunting (in the field):
Layering is key: Think in terms of a base layer (moisture-wicking), a mid-layer (fleece or down vest for insulation), and an outer layer (waterproof and windproof jacket).
Warm Pants: Insulated, waterproof hunting pants are ideal. Jeans are generally not recommended as they get cold and stay wet if it rains.
Headwear: A warm hat or beanie is essential, as you lose a lot of heat through your head.
Gloves: Insulated, waterproof gloves will make a big difference in comfort.
Socks: High-quality wool or synthetic blend socks are a must to keep your feet warm and dry.
Footwear: Comfortable, waterproof hunting boots are crucial. Our field vehicles (Unimogs/Jeeps) take you close to the blinds, but you'll still be walking on natural terrain.

For Around the Lodge:
• Our lodge is a luxurious, comfortable retreat with excellent heating, so you'll be very cozy indoors.
Casual and comfortable: Think sweaters, fleeces, long-sleeved shirts, and comfortable pants.
Light jacket or vest: Useful for stepping outside onto the patio in the evenings or for short walks around the beautiful grounds.
Comfortable indoor shoes: Slippers or soft shoes are perfect for relaxing after a day of hunting.

We pride ourselves on providing a premium, all-inclusive experience where every detail is handled for you. Our gourmet meals, open bar, and dedicated staff ensure you're comfortable and well-cared for, regardless of the weather outside.

"Honestly the best wingshooting trip of my life. The high-volume dove shooting is exactly as advertised - non-stop action. The lodge is luxurious and the staff makes you feel like family."

"I was skeptical about the 'no internal flights' claim, but it's true. Landed in BA and was hunting by the afternoon. The mixed bag program allowed me to hunt ducks and perdiz in the same trip. Top notch."

"The food alone is worth the trip. The asados in the field were incredible. If you are looking for a luxury lodge near Buenos Aires, this is the one. Can't wait to return next season."
