Is there a limit on doves in Argentina?
THE SHORT ANSWER: NO.
There is absolutely zero daily bag limit on eared doves in Argentina.
You can shoot as many as your shoulder can handle.
WHY ARE THERE NO LIMITS?
For hunters coming from North America or Europe, where daily limits are strictly enforced (often 15 birds per day), the concept of unrestricted shooting seems impossible. However, in Argentina, the eared dove (Zenaida auriculata) is officially classified as an agricultural pest.
The local population is estimated to be over 50 million birds and they do not migrate. They breed year-round, fueled by massive commercial crops of soy, corn, and sorghum. The birds consume roughly 30% of the local harvest annually. By hunting them, you are actually providing a vital service to the local agricultural economy, which is why the government encourages high-volume shooting.
THE REALITY IN THE BLIND
Because there is no limit, the action never stops. A typical hunter at AWS Lodge will shoot between 1,000 and 2,500 shells per day (40 to 100 boxes). It is highly recommended to rent guns at the lodge and cycle between two shotguns so one can cool down while you shoot the other.
THE 1000 DOVE CLUB
If you are looking for the ultimate endurance challenge, you can attempt to join our exclusive 1000 Dove Club. Harvesting 1,000 birds in a single day is a grueling test of accuracy and stamina, made possible only by the lack of bag limits.
WHAT IS THE REAL "LIMIT" THEN?
The only limits you will face at AWS Lodge are your own physical stamina and your ammunition budget. Shells are purchased at the lodge based on how much you shoot. This allows you complete freedom to dictate the pace of your own hunt.
