Q: What are the best months for dove hunting in Argentina?
The best dove hunting months in Argentina are generally September through March, especially for hunters seeking long shooting sessions and a dedicated high-volume dove hunting experience.
At AWS Lodge in Entre Ríos, dove hunting is available throughout most of the year because the local dove population does not migrate. However, the best time depends on the type of experience you are looking for:
• September through March: Best for dedicated high-volume dove hunting, with longer daylight hours and consistently strong dove activity.
• Early April: We generally operate only through approximately April 4. After that, local farmers begin planting their fields, which spreads the doves over a much larger area and makes it more difficult to provide the quality of experience we expect for our guests.
• May through August: Best for our Mixed Bag programs, combining afternoon dove shooting with morning duck hunting, perdiz hunting over dogs, or both.
For this reason, we generally do not recommend booking a dedicated dove hunting trip during most of April. Hunters interested in traveling from May through August will usually enjoy a more complete experience by choosing one of our Mixed Bag programs.
