The best time to shoot doves at AWS Lodge is between September and February. However, thanks to the lodge’s prime location and year-round bird populations, you can enjoy fantastic dove hunting at any time of the year.
The Short Answer: ANY TIME.
Unlike other regions where lodges must plant specific crops to attract birds, Entre Ríos is known as Argentina's "Seed Factory". Because our lodge is surrounded by a massive natural agricultural basin (corn, sorghum, wheat, and soybeans), the estimated population of 20 million doves does not migrate. They stay here to eat.
However, the experience changes depending on the season. Here is how to choose your dates:
Sept to Feb: "The High-Volume Season"
Best for: Pure Dove Hunters, beginners needing practice, and sun lovers.
This is Argentina's Spring and Summer. The days are long (sun sets as late as 8:30 PM), allowing for extended shooting sessions. The fields are rich with diverse crops, and the birds are in a natural feeding frenzy. If your goal is to break a personal record or shoot 1,000+ shells a day, this is the prime time.
May to Aug: "The Mixed Bag Season"
Best for: Experienced hunters wanting variety (Duck + Dove + Perdiz).
This is our Fall/Winter. The weather is cooler and crisp (great for walking), and the humidity drops. While the dove volume remains high, this is the exclusive window for our Mixed Bag Packages. You can hunt Ducks in the morning, Perdiz over dogs midday, and high-volume Doves in the afternoon.
