Yes. September is an excellent month for dove hunting in Argentina and marks the beginning of one of our preferred periods for dedicated high-volume dove programs.

As spring arrives in Entre Ríos, days become longer and dove shooting can provide extended morning and afternoon sessions compared with the shorter winter schedule.

September is particularly attractive for hunters whose priority is doves rather than Mixed Bag hunting, as the focus shifts back toward high-volume shooting after the winter bird season.

For guests looking for a combination of pleasant spring weather, strong dove numbers and longer shooting days, September is one of the months we regularly recommend.

Is January or February a good time for dove hunting in Argentina?

Yes. January and February are two of the best months for dove hunting at AWS Lodge. Summer conditions normally produce very consistent dove movement, excellent high-volume shooting and long afternoons in the field.

These months also offer something unique for guests who want to combine hunting with Argentine culture. During Carnival season, the famous Gualeguaychú Carnival — known as Carnaval del País — is typically held on Saturday nights. Because AWS Lodge is located in southern Entre Ríos, guests traveling on the right dates may be able to combine their dove hunting program with a Saturday night Carnival experience.

It can be an excellent option for couples, families or groups who want to add an evening activity beyond the field.

Carnival dates and performances vary each year, so guests interested in adding it to their trip should contact us before booking flights so we can confirm the schedule and coordinate the hunting itinerary around it.

Question 10

Is April a good month for dove hunting in Argentina?

April is generally not one of the months we recommend for a dedicated dove hunting trip in Argentina.

At AWS Lodge, the main issue is agricultural activity. During April, many farmers are planting or changing field conditions, which can cause large concentrations of doves to disperse and make shooting less predictable.

The first few days of April can still produce very good hunting when field conditions remain favorable, and we may occasionally operate programs through approximately April 4. After that, we normally prefer to recommend another month rather than promise the high-volume experience our guests expect.

For hunters with flexible dates, March is usually a better choice before April, while May offers the additional advantage of transitioning into our Mixed Bag season.
